Villa Tre Ville is the seaside villa in Positano that was Franco Zeffirelli's home for more than forty years. Today it is a luxury hotel, and the villa where Italian TV series Hotel Costiera was filmed. We didn't make just one video for the villa: over several years we told the story of its rooms and its history, followed the arrival of a professional kitchen lowered from the sky, and shot content for the events it hosts.
A villa like this doesn't need to look beautiful: it already is. The risk is the opposite, ending up in a catalogue video like every other luxury hotel on the Amalfi Coast, with the same white rooms and the same sea.
Villa Tre Ville has a history, a unique position on the cliff and a life that goes beyond its rooms: the kitchen, the events, the evenings on the terrace. All of this had to be told in the villa's own tone: a luxury that doesn't show off.
Before it became a hotel, Villa Tre Ville was director Franco Zeffirelli's summer home for more than forty years. The villa still carries that story, and our videos had to make you feel it.
In the late 1960s Zeffirelli furnished the villa on the cliff almost like a stage set: props, antiques, colour. He would spend his summers there for more than forty years.
His guests included Maria Callas, Leonard Bernstein, Laurence Olivier and Elizabeth Taylor, who came here in the summer to escape the paparazzi.
Zeffirelli sold the villa in 2007. Since 2011 it has been a luxury hotel owned by the American Friedland family, with pools hidden in the greenery, a spa and a bar by the sea.
The suites remember the special guests and the operas the director staged: there is the Zeffirelli suite, next to his old bedroom, the Bernstein suite and the junior suites Tosca and Carmen.
"A modern concept of luxury that shuns ostentation": the line that opens our video.
Two videos with two different jobs: one makes you long for a stay, the other tells the people who work with the villa what it is.
The suites dedicated to the guests who made the villa's history, the rooms, the gardens and the pool, told slowly, the way new arrivals discover them.
From the Amalfi Coast road to the arrival at the villa, then inside: the majolica tiles, the dome of Positano, the kitchen, the boat, the terrace at sunset and the moon over the sea. A longer story, made for those who need to know the villa before recommending it.

Villa Tre Ville clings to the cliff of Positano. When its new professional Molteni kitchen arrived, it wouldn't fit through the entrance. So it came by helicopter, and we were there to film it.
The crate prepared on the terrace, the helicopter climbing the cliff and lowering the kitchen from above, the workers unwrapping it, the installation inside the villa and the final toast in the kitchen. One day of work turned into a short film.

Even a construction job, told well, says who you are.
The villa hosts events on the terrace, in the garden and by the sea. To show them to people choosing a venue we shot short clips, one for each moment: the set-up, the kitchen, the party, the evening. Material ready for the website, social media and presentations.
The emotional video and the stills of the rooms show the villa to people choosing where to stay, on the website and on booking platforms.
The corporate video tells history and details to tour operators, agencies and event planners, who need to know the villa before recommending it.
The clips of set-ups, food and evenings show what an event at the villa feels like, better than any brochure.
The same footage turns into reels, stories and posts: the helicopter delivery, the dishes, the sunset, the moon over the sea.
